"The development of geometric structures under conditions that foster a flexible and responsive… more
The project is notable for being based on a modular structure — a system with the capacity to grow, adapt, and transform according to different functional conditions. This approach represents an interesting and intelligent conceptual idea.
In the overall composition, the combination of a rational geometric structure with a cool, industrial character, alongside a warm, local material such as brick, creates a contrast and balance that, if carefully controlled, holds the potential to produce a space that is both engaging and meaningful.
However, if we examine the project more closely, the structure chosen for the form largely results in a solid mass and a physical base, without establishing meaningful connections with the surrounding spaces. The internal flow of the project, which aimed to create an educational and cultural interaction with the urban context, has not been realized. Regarding its relationship with the site, merely using materials salvaged from older buildings on the site, such as remnants of brick or wood, cannot by itself evoke a sense of the past or establish a link with the historical context; instead, it may convey a feeling of decay and age.
In my view, it would have been better if the project’s structural design had given greater consideration to the geometries and conceptual relationships present on the site, as well as to the circulation patterns and urban connections around it. This approach could have allowed the generated geometric structure to exist in a metaphorical and dynamic relationship with the site and the city, while simultaneously conveying a sense of historical and cultural continuity.
