In the case of this project, its most striking quality is its radical approach to methodology, where architecture ceases to be a composition of spaces and becomes a system that involves the treatment of architectural space as a system of elements that are amenable to copying, indexing, and modification on the digital level. Through the indexing and modification of doors, corridors, walls, windows, among other architectural features, the project translates theory into a spatial lab where knowledge is more than merely cognized—it is practically embodied as well in the very spaces that house our dwellings.
At the same time, this strong conceptual ambition also reveals a limitation. The architectural experience of the project might be too didactic, with the logic of its elements and systems prevailing over the sensory, atmospheric, and social ones. In other words, although the building works as a research tool, its architecture does not stand out as often as possible through its capacity to offer surprises at the level of space, affect, or intuitive functionality. A possible way to rebalance this situation might be to enhance the human side of the experience.
